The backgrounds of medical coding & billing professionals are varied- many want to work in health care, but not in direct patient care. Some have worked as a nurse or medical assistant and want to transition to a different role. Others are looking for the flexibility to work on site in a hospital or office or work from home. This is a profession that anyone with an eye for detail and accuracy can enter.
